Living Wills
We can advise you on the preparation of a living will or advance directive as it is also known. This is a document that you can sign whilst you are well and healthy expressing your wishes as to your treatment if you become seriously ill and unable to communicate them. For example, you can state that you do not wish to be kept alive by artificial means. Alternatively you can nominate someone to speak for you in those circumstances.
A 'living will' does not have the binding force of a will but those responsible for your treatment do have to take account of wishes expressed in it when deciding on the course of treatment for you.
